Ice flow

During the beast from the east i decided to go to my local reservoir up at Blackmoorfoot. The whole of the banks of the reservoir were frozen solid. There were some really interesting formations on the rocks and trees branches. I saw these icicles which had formed from the branch of a hawthorn bush. I got down really close with a wide angle lens to emphasise the formations. As it was windy the water was washing up on the shores. I decided to use a slow shutter speed to emphasise the movement of the water and create a contrast between the ice and water. This image got commended in the 2018 Landscape photographer of the year competition.
